I know I’m completely biased, but I think my nephew is pretty darn adorable! There is something incredibly special about being able to photograph your little sister’s babies. They hold such a special place in your heart because they are family, and then I get the joy of watching them grow up over the years. I can tell you too, I’m going to enjoy watching Caleb get into all sorts of trouble, and adventures because he is already good at that one!
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Can you believe it? Hopefully, you have all of your shopping done, but if not don’t worry I just finished mine late this afternoon. Last minute as always for me, and now I have a couple of late nights spent wrapping in my future! Despite all the busyness of the season though; the shopping and the wrapping and the food preparations, I hope that each of you is able to find some peace, and are able to find some time to spend with the ones you love. Maybe that’s simply sitting around the Christmas tree and snuggling up to watch your favourite movie, or maybe that’s trying to get outdoors and tobogganing or skating. It looks like Edmonton finally is getting some snow this afternoon to make it a white Christmas so that tobogganing might actually happen if you live here!
Earlier in the holiday season, I spent a morning at home with Alice and Jane! Home is where those important holiday memories are made…around your family tree, in your pyjamas, reading stories and laughing. My time with Alice and Jane was even more special because this is little Jane’s first Christmas! And, Alice is at the age where everything is pure magic. I still remember my childhood Christmas tree, but there aren’t too many photos of it for us to reflect on. That’s why an at-home lifestyle session during the holiday season, can be one of the most magical! Let’s get together and make cookies, read stories, drink hot chocolate, go tobogganing…all those wonderful Christmas traditions documented for years to come. Let’s chat.

Family photos are always the perfect gift idea for Moms. As Moms. we have more bubble bath, scented candles, and small kitchen appliances than we know what to do with. Plus we are also so busy running around with our kids, sometimes life passes by with a blur and it feels like time has sped up and our children have grown before our eyes.
Little kids turn into big kids, and often at some point during that transition as parents we stop scheduling family photos on a regular basis. It is a natural transition, one that I personally find myself in the midst of too. As parents of ‘big kids’, we go from someone who is responsible for taking care of all the little things for our children; liking bathing, feeding and getting them dressed, to someone whom might slightly resemble more of an Uber driver. Dropping kids off at the movies with friends, hockey practice, art lessons. It’s a different type of busy, with constantly full schedules that we are juggling, and kids that are searching out their own independence. Somehow that seems to make time pass even faster. Before you know it, the kids are big and you haven’t had portraits of them done in years. In fact, sometimes it reaches a point, where our own grownup children realize they haven’t had photos done since they were little! Like Melissa then, they are the ones organize a family photo session as a gift for their Mom, realizing the importance.
The gift of family photos is by far one of the sweetest gifts you can ever give your Mom, especially if you are looking for the perfect holiday gift this Christmas season.

The way she smiles while he makes her laughs. How he looks at her and holds her in his embrace. Those tiny moments, that’s what I see, that’s what I photograph. Two people in love. Preparing to embark on an adventure of a lifetime together, hand in hand.
When you get the opportunity to photograph clients year-after-year, and you get to watch their children grow, and they become friends….as a photographer nothing means more. I honestly can’t put into words what it means, so I’ll just share some of my favourite photos from one of our sessions together.
These two adorable brothers are so lucky to grow up adventuring together! The memories they will share, and the trouble I’m sure they will getin to together! I always smile because photographing brothers is so different than photographing little girls. Little boys are always up for running, throwing rocks, wrestling, and piggyback rides. They need room too explore and get a little dirty sometimes, and I love standing back and watching the memories unfold in front of my camera lens as I document it. Nothing warms my heart more, as I think of how much their Mom will enjoy looking back at these photos after they have grown up and are not so little anymore.
Simple, classic and filled to the brim with love. Studio portraits designed for the family who is looking for a simpler, shorter portrait session, compared to a full lifestyle family session. I’m excited to announce that the Simply Studio sessions will be launching in 2018! Stay tuned for more details coming soon.
