Meet another one of the Tiny Light Foundations precious little Tiny Light’s. I had the wonderful opportunity to voluneteer, and meet four-month old Jacob, and the rest of his family including his twin brother, at the Stollery Hospital on a rainy afternoon. He had me wrapped around his little finger from the moment I walked in the door. I found it to be the cutest thing, as in the middle of our photography session he was so sleepy, and gently closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.
Cora and Fabian, thank you all for welcoming me, and letting me spend some time with you are your handsome boys.
If you haven’t checked out the Tiny Light Foundation, I ask you to please do so, and help to spread the word.
At 12 days old, Little Ameera, initially have no intention of sleeping for her session. It wasn’t until she was safe and secure in the comfort of her Mommy’s loving arms, that she fell sound asleep.
To be able witness a new mom with her baby, and see the love between them, is always something so amazing! I can’t help but smile during the session as I capture the moments between them. It always reminds me of my babies, and my own Mom, and the love and memories we share.
When The Tiny Light Foundation matched me with my first Tiny Light, Naomi, I was so excited to meet her, and her family. It wasn’t until I was at the door for our first meeting together, that Naomi’s mom and I realized, we in fact already knew each other. Naomi and my daughter, Lilly, were in the same dance class last year! That small connection that we already had, made listening to their story, and shooting their family portraits so much more real for me personally. This gorgeous family, and the strength that they have shown over the past year, is truly inspirational.
Thank you for welcoming me, and letting me spending the morning with you.
I have the extreme privilege of being a volunteer photographer for the Tiny Light Foundation. They are a group of professional photographers, who provide photography for children and families that have been faced with a life altering diagnoses. They are growing by leaps and bounds right now, and it is amazing to see all of the lives they are touching.
I myself, have had the opportunity to meet a few little Tiny Lights so far. Little eight month old, Parker is one of them. I met him, and his Mom, Robin, at the Stollery Hospital, and spent some time with them there. Parker was such a joy! He was so smiley, and loved laughing. Thank you Robin, for letting me visit you both.
Meet Gillian & Joffrey. Right now this beautiful couple is expecting their first baby, a little girl. I know that for these two parents-to-be, the anticipation for this little one’s arrival is unbelievable. Not only that, but she appears to be determined on making her parents wait as long as possible, for her grand entrance into the world. I have done my best to distract them, with all things maternity photos while they wait, but my job is done for now.
I have a feeling she is going to be well worth the wait, and absolutely gorgeous, just like her Mommy.
On April first, that’s right April Fools Day, my little man turned TWO!
Lyndon is such a little boy already, and definietly no longer a baby. He talks non stop, chases his sister all over the house calling ‘Gully-ga’, since he can’t say ‘Lilly’, and already has a preference for the colour blue. He is still a very serious child most of the time, but has the most wonderful smile and laugh that can melt anyone in his presence. Oh, and given the opportunity, like when Mommy’s back is turned, he will try to beat up Lilly…we are working on that one.
Lyndon’s actual birthday was a very quiet event in our house this year, and I won’t lie there is a little bit of Mommy guilt about that one. We had spent the week before moving into our new house, which is my excuse from not yet having done his official 2 year portraits. Then Daddy and both Grandmas had to work, which is the excuse for no party. No matter how quiet things are though, at a minimum you need to have cake on your birthday. He loved that, well at least he loved the icing! He appears to have a real sweet tooth just like his mommy :)
After I photographed her Mommy’s winter maternity session, I won’t lie, it felt like I had to wait forever for spring, and to meet this little newborn princess! She was well worth the wait though. Isabel was such a dream baby to work with, as she slept for most of our time together. I easily could have stayed all day, just to cuddle this little one. Her big brother Miguel, also had me wrapped around his little finger. He and I had fun laughing and playing together while baby Isabel took a break from the spotlight, and spent some quality time with Mommy.
I have been waiting for this little girl’s arrival for quite some time!Evelyn is the beautiful new addition to the Shandro Family. The Shandro’s, are not only wonderful colleagues of mine, but first and foremost, they are very dear friends of our family. It was a honor and privilege, to be able to photograph newborn Baby Evelyn at just 5 days news. Of course while I was visiting, I made sure to sneak in lots of sweet cuddles too.I’m sure this is just the start of her life in front of the camera, being the daughter of two amazing photographers.
Congratulations Michael and Haley on your beautiful little princess, and to Andrew on now being a big brother!
Lilly spends most of the year counting down until Valentine’s Day. Somehow this heart filled day has earned top spot in her holiday lineup, right behind Christmas of course. She will spend weeks preparing homemade Valentines for all of her Aunties and Uncles. Then the decision on which cards to handout to her classmates is not one she takes lightly. This year she was quite concerned if it would be ok to pass out Princess cards to the boys in her class. In the end, she decided that it would be ok, since they were her favorite.
I’ve put together Valentine’s for both of my little ones, ready for them to find in the morning. However, it was Lilly that surprised me first this afternoon! She and Lyndon returned home from an afternoon at Nana’s, with a plate full of heart shaped cookies she made. I almost had a hard time eating them, but she insisted I have one, and how could I refuse her ;)
