I think over the years of working with hundreds of families, one of my favourite types of sessions to shoot has become extended families! Grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins all together! There is always so much laughter and fun, and capturing so many generations together is truly something special and memorable.

What is the perfect family activity? Why a picnic in the park of course! The perfect, fun, mid-session snack for these little girls, packed with love by Mom and Dad. I loved travelling down to Calgary to photograph these adorable girls. The weather and the rain kept us on our toes all day and we weren’t sure the spring rain would hold off. But, lucky for us it did and we had so much fun, despite it being a little chilly!
Travel dates for 2017 family photo sessions will soon be announced! I will be heading down to Calgary as well as Canmore and Invermere, BC. Stay tuned!
Every time I hold a newborn in the studio, I am reminded of how tiny my babies once were, and how quickly they grow. I always tell new moms and dads, to simply soak in every moment and enjoy it, while their little ones are so fresh and new. As a parent we watch our kids grow, and forget too easily how small they once were. I love looking back on my own children’s newborn photos and seeing their little lips, and button noses. I’ve seen Lincoln, who was a gem in when he came to the studio, a few times since these portraits were created. He has grown and changed so much since then! If you are expecting a new baby, I would love to help you remember this time of your baby’s life too, and capture how tiny they were at the start.
One of my favourite parts about photographing newborn, is when parents bring unique items to their session, that I get the opportunity to creatively incorporate. Emma’s newborn session was extra special! Her Dad, who as you can guess loves to play hockey, brought with him, his Cape Breton tartan. It was the perfect addition to personalize this little peanut’s session, adding such a unique special touch.

Oh, I am so excited about these! These minis have been in the planning phase for a few months now! I am often asked if I do older babies in the studio also, and normally it is reserved for all those sweet newborns, but once a year now I do these styled mini sessions! So these are a very special treat, and not something that I offer often! There is a very limited number of spaces, so don’t delay in contacting me. It is always bitter sweet when a baby graduates from the Baby Club. It is so fun and exciting to watch them grow over the first year of their life, but it means that they are getting big so quickly too. It is always so amazing to watch them learn, discover, laugh and play over that first year. One of my favourite moments to witness, and document as a photographer, is the bond between them and their Mommy. The connection between them is always so tender and loving, and as a mom myself, I know how special that first year always is.
Rosalie was one very amazing little girl! Her laughter can light up a room, and she has the most amazing eyes! It was such a joy to work with her, and watch her grow.

It is super rare that I do mini sessions of any kind. I normally plan something out in my head, but when the time comes, things are simply so busy and crazy already, and I run out of time! Last year I made it my goal to run Lil’ Sitters mini session over the colder winter months, and it was so much fun! The babies that came to visit me were so adorable, and since many of them were past newborn clients, it was so much fun to see how much they had grown in just a few short months!
My vision for these sessions had been simple, and timeless. They were completely styled by me, so parents didn’t have to worry or stress about what baby needed to wear. The focus was on these little ones, and on those details you as parents, always want to remember as they grow up all too fast.
I’m super excited to be doing Lil’ Sitters mini session again soon this year! Make sure to watch both the Facebook page and website, for the details and dates to soon be released!
Kaivion was around one month old when he came to visit me in the studio. He was awake and alert, and I got to see his amazing eyes, which is sometimes rare for a newborn session. Then there was this little man’s amazing hair! Have you ever seen such beautiful hair on a new baby! I was simply swooning over it!
Sometimes life gets busy, or moms-to-be don’t realize how far in advance newborn photographers tend to book, how small the window is for newborn portraits, or they simply changed their mind about wanting newborn portraits. If you have already had your baby, and have not yet booked a newborn session, don’t worry! I have worked with many older ‘newborns’ over the years, and have the experience to ensure we capture beautiful, timeless portraits. I typically reserve a couple of day in my calendar each month, for last minute babies, as I simply can never get enough baby cuddles! If you are in the Edmonton area, and interested in newborn photos, please do not hesitate to contacting me.
Little lip bubbles, and tiny peeling hands…they are some of my favourite newborn baby details. Ones that are often forgotten all too soon. That’s where I entire the picture! It’s my job to capture those moments for you, so that they can be cherished and remembered as your little one grows all too fast before your eyes. Creating photo and memories that will last a lifetime, so you will never forget how small they once were, and how they fit so snuggly in your arms.
Three energetic and playful boys, always results in lots of laughter and fun! Especially when the photographer lets you jump on Mom and Dad’s bed! I had so much fun with this family playing in their family home, and then it was warm enough for us to venture outside too!
I always love working families in their home. Littles ones have a chance to warm up to me, as well its the place that memories are made every day as families! It is so special to be able to document and capture that space, at that time, so that years later when kids look back at these photos, they can remember.
